Workshop Details
Dates
Workshops are Tuesday-Thursday. I suggest you arrive a couple of days early, unwind, and then have a couple of days after the workshop to explore on your own.
FALL 2022 Dates Coming Soon!
Base Location
My family and I are excited to welcome you into our home studio. We live in Buxton, about two miles from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
Please note we have dogs and cats. They will be in and around the house. For those with allergies, you'll need to consider this!
Experience Requirement
For this workshop you'll need to have and know your way around your dslr or mirrorless camera. You'll need to have a grasp of shooting in manual, using flash, etc.
We won't spend time during the workshop going over Photography 101 concepts, but if you need a refresher, you add on my in-person or online Photography 101 Class and complete it prior to the workshop week.
Physical Requirements
We'll be hiking on the beach and in the maritime forest, we will most likely be wading in the water at some point. We'll spend most of the time outside and the weather conditions can vary drastically. So be prepared for wind, heat, cold, rain, and mosquitoes!
Technical Talk
While we won't go over basic 101 concepts, we will cover how to creatively use manual settings, composition, and lighting. We'll be up for sunrise on the ocean, photograph sunset on the sound, and shoot astrophotography in the evening.
Room + Board
Lodging and food are not included in the workshop price. Since individual needs vary, we are leaving this up to you! Once you register we'll send you our list of favorite places to stay, eat, and shop.
